Citric Acid E 330
500 g in a light-proof, resealable stand-up pouch.
100% pure
For descaling the cooling water circuit of our distillation units
Dosage:
2–3 tablespoons per liter of water
Usage:
Do not use hot; use lukewarm water no hotter than 35° C.
Leave on for approximately 30 to 60 minutes. Then rinse thoroughly with cold, clear water.
If the cooler is used occasionally, descaling should be performed at least once a year. If the cooler is used frequently, increase the frequency of descaling. For daily or commercial use, descaling should be performed weekly.
Limescale deposits on the cooling surfaces reduce heat exchange and lower efficiency. Heavy deposits can block the cooling water flow to the point that the cooler becomes ineffective.
Citric acid is biodegradable and therefore environmentally safe.
For smaller coolers, use a small funnel to pour the mixture—for example, into the cooling water drain—until it flows out again at the cooling water inlet; then let it sit.
For larger systems, it is best to use a pump to circulate the mixture from a bucket through the cooling system.
In directly heated boilers using tap water, limescale will also build up over time, so the boiler should be descaled from time to time as well. Without descaling, the limescale layer prevents heat transfer into the boiler water.
Of course, citric acid is also helpful in this regard.
